I left out family guilt as a pressure for having kids. Parents that want to be grandparents sometimes pressure their kids into settling down and having children. I think this pressure is bigger than I suppose. And I know that some people do love each other and they want to expand that love into a new creation, but at that point it's still all about them.

Can i also just add that if something goes wrong in development we CAN and actually DO try to rectify that with environmental intervention. Witness how many kids and adults born with disabilities can respond to speech therapy, OT etc. we also see great success with stroke recovery and after brain injury. The brain/mind and who we are is far more responsive to the environment we live in than we once believed 20-30 years ago.

True, nature and nurture both play a role, but increasingly research shows that our environment is more important than once realised. I dont think RG's work ever claims that nature/genetics has no influence. I think he is concerned about working on what we CAN change. We can change our environment and therefore modify the way our genes may express themselves. Also in regard to personality I think most psych's these days believe nuture has an equal or even greater role than genes.

Okay sure, environment is a factor, but it's not the only thing that determines personality or behaviors. If something goes wrong in development, whether it be malformation of the brain or any other physical problem- no environment is going to be able to change that. Also, the distortion comment was related to the fact that the video makes it out to sound like children were the only victims of slavery, sacrifice, and the like- which is definitely not the case.

I have a few issues with this video. Granted, the things that were described were accurate, but greatly distorted. Many things listed as having happened to children, such as slavery, sacrifice, and witch burning, happened to all people- not only children. Ultimately while raising your child in an emotionally healthy environment is vitally important; instilling values of personal responsibility, and a strong sense of work ethic with respect to logic / reasoning / fairness is really the difference between a successful person with values versus an immature victim-mentality burden upon society. I basically agree with what you're saying, but I think you're missing my point. From personal experience, I have seen so many parents intercede on their child's behalf that the kids start to believe that nothing they do is wrong and it's always somebody else's fault when something bad happens to them. This outcome is reflected in our legal system: people don't take responsibility for their own actions; instead, they sue someone. Ask any employment lawyer (me) or products liability atty.

Unfortunately, many parents (in the US, at least) have taken the idea of "supportive parenting" too far, to the point that they refuse to accept that their child is responsible for any wrong-doing; protest when their child receives a poor grade, even when it is deserved; and physically attack others during sports events if they feel their child is treated "unfairly." This form of parenting is creating a generation that feels entitled to get whatever it wants. Very sad.

You make excellent videos; I bought some videos off the site, along with some other stuff. Anywho can you help me? I've been trying to find some videos, topics, and tips about chi ghosts on the forum but it seems I came too late. I understand it somewhat but theres still something I'm missing. Is it showing how since your hand is apart of everything else that even if you don't use your physical hand but intend to do something, it eventually will. Is it also saying that everything in the universe is one? If so, then if I were stranded on an island all alone and had a meal and did this same thing I would starve to death. Is this because I'm lacking someone or something that wants me to eat?

Things were going great... until you told the kids that their hand, in the form of a doctor, was going to feed them. You should have included that part about the aching stomach, the concerned parents, and medical bills. Then again I suppose none of that really matters so long as your focus is only on getting fed without use of your flesh and blood hand.
