They were ALL musicians but Davy only sang before he learned the drums and bass. Micky played rhythm guitar b4 he became a Monkee then learned to play drums for the show. And Mike 2 singles under the name Michael Blessing and Peter played 9 diff instruments. Davy sang on Broadway. Mike and Peter were not imopressed by the bubblegum songs and they later wrote and played their own songs,But they all played and Mike and Peter played backing guitar on the first album..

@mattwildchild Look up Hellman on youtube. He uses a few good gt-guitar books. One of his biggest video's is taken from a book. As is a few others. I can't remember the name of them right now. They come with backtracks and such. But starting on the books Hellman has shown will get you playing like Syu, Takayoshi, ect..

Im not a musician, but back when they both came on the scene i was a fan of both bands however, i no longer can tolerate Dream Theater WAY to technical. Being considered a technical band in my opinion is only focusing on trying to impress other musicians and not fans..its not a good thing.. You miss the point entirely. I understand they are talented albeit not super talented like most people make them out to be. And I am not saying you have to flop around like a fish out of water, but just rock, play something that has heart. LOOK at a lot of the people in this video they are just standing around. Some are not even nodding their head or anything to the music so calm down a little. And you don't have to be a musician to appreciate Progressive Metal, it's great music not THAT GREAT.

Fates Warning's Achillies Heel was the fact they were TOO technical....That's not a desparging comment at all....trust me, I love these guys!!...But think about it for a moment...Fates never really found that "wavelength" that Dream Theater did....Technical and still appeal to those who were not musicians.Again, by no means disrespect to Fates.....They just never found that "bridge" between the musicians and the non-musician listener.

I finally got it! Ive been searching for this show for over 3 years the only part of the title I knew was tales of the. I have just read a comment about Jack and that he never once had a bad album. Which is kind of uncommon for artists. I think that is because he, above all, writes above love and life, more so than other people. It's sometimes just real, like in this song. Not everything in life is easy and great. I have been searching forever for this song!! On April 19, 2006, my 19 yr old son was killed in a car wreck. This was played at his funeral. It was 1 of his favorite songs. My son, William Jacob Harding, was a very special young man. Everyone he came in contact with LOVED him. He was Mgr at Taco Bell here in Jamestown, Tn. He was going to School to be an EMT.
