Children are getting more involved with computer consoles and from an earlier age and there are even computer consoles aimed at pre-school children to help them develop their listening, speaking, number and letter recognition.
Children are encouraged at nursery age to understand and interact with technology from an early age to make sure they are comfortable with technology when they are older. Most young children are encouraged by programmes aimed at their age range to go onto the internet and play educational games and they enjoy the stimulation and challenge.
Wii have developed games to specifically target this age range and capture their imagination and learning stimulation with bright characters, music and simplistic challenges. Where the Wii games can offer something different is the style of play, the physical movement interaction will help a child develop their co-ordination and how they physically interact with the world.
Harvest Moon Magical Melody: This game involves your character running a farm, looking after your animals and plants, catching fish and seeing your character grow up.
Planet Rescue: Wildlife Vet: This game gives you the opportunity to rescue animals and medically care for them which encourages children to learn about the world and to build relationships with the people, animals and world around them.
Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords: is all about puzzles and although this is appropriate for children of an early age not all the puzzles will be able to be solved by them. They play involves a series of over 150 fifteen minute puzzles so in some respects the short attention span is ideal for young children.
Animal Crossing: Lets Go To The City (With Wii Speak) Animal crossing is a delightful character based game where anything is possible from fishing, decorating to building a snowman. The Wii Speak option helps you communicate with friends and build up an on-line community of friends. Ideal for young children but appropriate for the nursery age too with some simplistic games to help them learn to play with technology and enjoy the endless possibilities.

Here are some good games console for kids with autism, including free site games, board games, video games, etc. As you know, children who suffer from autism have specific interests, at least one. Find out what it is and start from there.
1. The Wii. This game is all about movement. Auistic children make the same movements as his person, it’s helpful for controling his character. Plus, it’s simple, for there are very few buttons. Many kids with autism love it. It’s an fantastic invention.

5. Games for a group of students: “Around the world”. One student stands in back of another (who is seated at his desk). You say (let’s say you are doing verbal opposites), “BIG”, and the two children who are “it” have to come up with the verbal opposite. First one who says it moves on to the next seat. Loser has to take the winner’s seat. Reward anyone who makes it all the way around, or after however many correct answers works for your group.
6. Go fish. This game works on language, memory and attention. And it’s fun to play.
7. Try the old fashio tetris. Buy Nintendo DS at an electronic store and ask the saler for games that wouldn’t trigger a tantrum, games that are calmer.
8. Video game. Vice City and GUN are rated M, which is?the second highest video game rating. Basically,it’s not a good idea for autistic kids to play video games with too much violence.

Young children love to play video games and many experts say spending sometime doing so can help with hand and eye coordination. Of course you do want to limit the amount of time a child plays the Wii so that they don’t become too dependent upon it for their entertainment. They should still be exploring their skills and developing their creativity.
Since it is important for children to become active from an early age, the Wii Sports package that comes with the gaming console is a good one to start with. There are many different ones to choose from. They can help your child get some basic skills they can use for little league as well.
Children about 8 years of age may really enjoy the Madden NFL football. If they have favorite teams and players then they will really love being able to choose them. In order to ensure your children are enjoying the Wii you want them to have some games that are at or slightly higher than their age level. You should allow them to help you pick some of them out as well. Many parents don’t like to invest a great deal of money in these games though. This is because their children will quickly outgrow them or just get tired of playing them.
A great way to save money and to still give them plenty to play with is to buy used Nintendo GameCube games. They are backwards compatible so they can be used with the Nintendo Wii. Even if the games don’t come with instructions you can download them from the internet if you are struggling to figure out the concepts and strategies for particular games.
You will need to pay attention to the likes and dislikes of your child when it comes to the games you buy them for the Wii. Some children don’t like puzzles while others love them. Some won’t play sporting games while others will want to play nothing else. Try to have a good variety of video games they can choose from though. They may pick up something new and find they are interested in it when they never knew that before.

When it comes to kids’ parties, the childrens party games are one of the things that kids will remember most about a party they’ve been to or had themselves. And so it is important to think about how you are going entertain them when planning for your child’s party. Ask your daughter or son, what games they have played at other kids parties to get some ideas of the kinds of games they enjoyed. This is also insightful as you can find out what games have struck them as being fun and memorable. What I’ve found is that simple games are best. Traditional games are ideal for younger children in particular, because they are simple to play and most of the children will have played them in one form or another. Playing familiar games helps kids to feel comfortable and confident; this is especially useful when you have a large group of kids.
Many of the traditional games for parties listed below, originate many decades ago, and yet are still popular today. I think it is their simplicity that makes them timeless and still loads of fun for children even now. Plus as many of them have minimal costs in terms of props and the time it takes to set them up, this means they are good for parents too.

Of course some aspects of these games can be updated, for example instead of a thimble, use an object that can be used as a prize or if your child’s party has a theme, choose an object that is in keeping with that theme. These are ideal for kids’ birthday party games both for indoor and outdoor parties. Some of them can also be adapted to be played as sleepover party games.
So, the important aspects to consider when deciding which games to play at your child’s party can include: choosing simple games, games that are not too competitive and games that will be familiar to the children. Ask your children for their input to get some ideas of what games they and their peers will enjoy. And finally, think back to your own parties when you were a child. I find that many of the games I particularly remember are still great ideas for my children’s party games today.

Handwriting, what is it? It is the convenient method by which we record the twenty six complex ciphers of our spoken language. Got that? In other words it’s the way we put our words, sentences and stories onto paper.
Think back now to the beautiful flowing copperplate handwriting of our grandparents and great grandparents, many of whom had very little formal schooling. The little they had was outstanding.
Regarding handwriting, children in their first year at school never attempted printing. They spent that first year strengthening little fingers with standard games and exercises.
Hours of wonderful kneading, rolling, pummelling and shaping colourful plasticine.
Songs, such as Incey Wincey, Twinkle-Twinkle, Ten Green Bottles, Dance Thumbkin Dance, 1,2,3,4,5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive and many, many more – all with exuberant finger actions. All adored by children (these songs should be available on the internet).
Drawing circle pictures. Think about it, every one of our twenty six letters is formed from a circle or a stick (bat and ball) or parts thereof.
It makes sense to practice these ad infinitum, while making them fun. Draw a teddy bear, round and round and round for the tummy, round and round for the head and in the same way circles for the ears, the nose, the eyes, arms and legs. Children love teddy bears and they love drawing – what better combination?
Invite the teddy bear to a tea party. Round and round and round for the teapot lid, handle and spout. Round and round for cups.
Sing ‘Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush’ or ‘Here We Go Gathering Nuts in May’ while drawing circles going around and around dozens of times.
Draw cherries, oranges, apples, a train, from circles and sticks. Be creative, keep going round and round to strengthen those wrists and fingers.
The letters of our alphabet are very difficult, producing them in all their complexity into words needs strong trained fingers. In recent years we have adopted the terminally stupid practice of asking pre-schoolers to write their names and four year olds to produce sentences. Tiny, weak fingers opt for the easiest way to write those letters, so setting up lifetime habits and sloppy writing.
Every day I see these children forming letters from the base upward, the letter ‘r’ resembles a crooked upward line, nothing has a thoughtful structure.
To prevent this:
Strengthen your small child’s fingers with finger games.
Start your four year old with bats and balls. Make them into colourful beach balls as long as they are so perfectly round they would bounce. Bats can have faces so long as they are straight enough to hit the balls to the sky.
Teach your late four to early five year old to craft each and every letter, praising stamping and stickering effort.
THEN teach you child to write his or her name.

Some wedding ceremonies are very religious and long, others are personalized and the duration of the ceremony can vary depending on personal preference. Children have short attention spans and other than seeing everyone dressed up, a wedding really has no appeal to them. The reception can offer some fun but, they are still usually adult oriented and hold little interest for a child. Many children spend a lot of time playing indoors. This is a real shame because there are so many outdoor games that are great fun to play and will also help to keep your kids active. Let’s take a closer look at some great games.
If you want to turn your garden into a fun place to play then you may be looking to purchase some new games to brighten it up. The sort of things that you will be looking at may depend to a large extent on a couple of factors.
The first may be the size of your garden. If you have a large garden then almost anything is possible. If you’re limited in terms of the size of the outdoor space then there are still plenty of options, but you will need to consider how much room different games require.
The second factor is likely to be financial. Toys and games can vary considerably, so it’s likely that you’ll want to restrict yourself to looking at items within a particular range in terms of your budget.
So let’s start at the lower price ranges – what sort of games might you look at purchasing? There are some classic garden games that cost relatively little money.
Ball games are a good starting point. They cost relatively little and yet can offer hours of fun. A simple football, or maybe a bat and ball could be good games to invest in.
Paddling pools are likely to be slightly more expensive but are particularly good in hot weather. You can also add additional water toys over a period of time, extending the use of the pool.
How about if you have more to spend? What are the larger games and pieces of equipment that tend to appeal? You might look at trampolines, climbing frames, slides and swings. All of these items are fantastic fun and they also encourage your kids to be more active.
As you can see, there are numerous options available to you. It’s important that you select toys and games that are suited to the needs of your family.

Whether you have a 2 year old who is just starting to learn numbers or a 10 year old that knows subtraction or addition, it is never too early or too late to learn about counting or math games. Children that are young benefit from games that teach them how to count objects and recognize numbers whereas older children benefit from games that help them learn how to add and subtract and build the basis for learning about algebra.
Aside from the obvious board games where you roll the dice and move your game piece a certain number of spaces, there are plenty of other counting games that you can play. Dominoes can keep kids busy for hours. I recently spent over 1 hour playing with dominoes with my two year old. We counted the numbers of dots. We counted the dominos as we stacked them or put them in or out of the container. We lined them up and counted them together. After they were all lined up, I let him push the first domino to make them all fall down.
Hide things in your house such as blocks, plastic eggs or marbles. Before you hide them, count them with your child. Then, they can go find them all. Once they have been found, they can count them again to make sure that they have all been found. Older kids can add or subtract to figure out how many they have left to find. In order to encourage sharing, have two or more children hunt the objects. At the end of the hunt, count the number in each kid’s bucket. Then work together to make sure that everyone has the same amount in their bucket.
Drop objects in a bucket or plastic containers that are lined up next to each other. Count how many objects are in each bucket. Count the number of objects that did not make it into a container. Once again, take the opportunity to incorporate addition or subtraction with older children.
Young children love learning about eyes, ears, fingers, toes, etc. Count body parts together. For instance ask, “How many eyes does Mommy have?” or “How many fingers do you have?” Count familiar household items such as pets, shoes or pots and pans.
Children also love to eat snacks, so incorporate counting with snack time. Ask “How many Cheerios do you have?” or “How many Goldfish are in the blue cup? How many are in the red cup?” Count out snacks to make sure each child has the same amount. If one child has two more Cheerios than another one, teach them to give the other child one of their’s so that they have the same amount.
Be creative in teaching your child to count. They love to count and learn, but they also want to have fun too. It is possible to incorporate both in daily activities. Lead by example and show them how you count things. You don’t want to have them counting and reciting numbers all day long, but at the same time there are so many opportunities to help them learn their numbers. Work with your children to come up with your own fun games and counting activities.
