Baby Feeding
Filed Under Home And Family | Leave a Comment
UNDER 3 MONTHS
As a rule, a healthy baby under 3 months us put to breast 6 times a day, every 3,5 hours with 6,5 hours night break, i.e. – at 6.00, 9.30, 13.00, 16.30, 20.00 and 23.30.
Daily quantity of baby’s food should come to: from 2 weeks to 2 months – 1/5 of baby’s weight, from 2 to 3 months – 1/6.
To determine quantity of milk imbibed (if this is necessary, for example when a baby’s weight increases not enough), a baby is weighed before and after feeding. As quantity of milk imbibed varies during different processes of feeding, a daily control or, at least, calculation of quantity for 2-3 processes of feeding with normal quantity calculation are necessary. Besides breast milk, you should give water to your baby – boiled, unsweetened, of room temperature. Give 1-2 tea-spoons of water a day to your baby, altogether – up to 50 millilitres.
Since 1 month you should provide your baby with vitamins (especially in autumn-winter period). With this purpose, a baby is given a juice every day – fruit, berry or vegetable. Juices are included in a ration little by little: beginning from a very small dose – several drops – a day, then increasing this quantity up to 30 millilitres a day (for 2 doses). It is better to start with apple juice.
Since 2 months include apple sauce in a baby’s ration (fresh grated apple or canned puree for baby’s feeding). Firstly give him ½ of tea-spoon a day, then, little by little, during 7-10 days, increase quantity of fruit puree up to 50 g.
IN THE AGE FROM 3 TO 5 MONTHS
Babies of this age are feed 6 times a day, every 3,5 hours, with 6,5 hour night break.
Daily quantity of baby’s food comes to: from 3 to 4 months – 1/6 of baby’s weight, from 4 to 6 months – 1/7.
In this age, increase quantity of fruit and vegetable juices given to your baby – from 30 to 50 millilitres a day (in 2 doses).
Since 4 months include a yolk of a hard-boiled egg, which is a valuable product – it contains vitamins, easy digestible protein, calcium salts, iron, phosphorus. Smear yolk and give it with breast milk, when you include supplemental feeding in your baby’s ration – add yolk to dishes. Since 4 months you can start giving cotton cheese to your baby – beginning with 5 g and increasing quantity to 30 g by 5 months.
On 4-5 months of life a baby already needs another feeding, as mother’s milk cannot already meet the demands of a baby’s organism in various food substances, particularly in vitamins and mineral salts. So, since 4 months include supplemental feeding in your baby’s ration. Start with 1-2 tea-spoons and increase up to 150 g little by little. The first procedure of breast feeding is replaced by a procedure of supplemental feeding.
IN THE AGE FROM 5 TO 1 YEAR
In the age of 5 months, a baby should be given pap, besides breast milk. Firstly they give babies 5-8 %-pap of semolina or cereals (buckwheat, oatmeal, boiled rice), in small quantity (1-2 tea-spoons), increasing portion up to 150 g for one procedure of feeding little by little. 7-10 days after including pap in a baby’s ration, you should proceed from 5-8% pap to 10% pap, cooked on whole milk. It is better to give pap to your baby at 10 am. The second procedure of breast-feeding is replaced by pap.
A baby of this age should be feed 5 times a day, every 4 hours and with 8-hour night break.
Daily quantity of food for a baby from 6 to 9 months should come to 1/8 of his weight.
Since 6,5 – 7 months a baby begins to eat lean meat broth. Start with 1-2 tea-spoons, increasing portion little by little. Give meat broth to your baby in small amounts – 30 millilitres (since 8 months – 50 millilitres), once a day, before you feed him with vegetable puree. Give him a small white bread cracker with broth. So, the second procedure of supplemental feeding is like a dinner: broth, vegetable and fruit puree or juice. Sometimes, you can give him a potage, instead of broth and vegetable puree.
Since 7 months, you can give your baby meat in the form of crushed puree, and also liver puree. It is good to combine meat puree with vegetable one. You should start giving your baby supplemental feeding from 5 g and increase to 20-30 g (liver puree – 10 – 20 g) little by little.
At the same age another procedure of breast feeding should be replaced by the third procedure of supplemental feeding: yoghurt or whole milk with a cookie.
In the last quarter of year (9-12 months) you can give your baby meat not only in the form of puree, but in the form of meat-balls, and then of steamed cutlets. In this age you can replace meat by fish, cooked in the form of puree or pudding, 1-2 times a week. Include in your baby’s ration vegetable salad (grated or minced), a pan-fried apple.
As a rule, breast feeding takes place until your baby is 10-12 months old. By the end of the first year of life, a baby is put on 4-time feeding.

Baby Eczema treatments can be quite difficult to come by, and it seems that all most doctors want to do is prescribe medication to prevent the symptoms of Eczema, instead of looking into the root cause of the problem. Check out these tips to do exactly that.
Bathing-
Baby Eczema treatment guides will often suggest that you bathe baby at least once a day, twice if at all possible. The water should be around 85 degrees, as anything warmer than this can have the opposite effect on the Eczema. Be sure to use just a mild unscented soap to clean baby-it’s important that it’s unscented as scientists have found that Eczema does not get on well with perfuming agents.
Moisturising-
Another baby eczema treatment that you can easily implement yourself is moisturizing. The more moisture in the skin, the less likely it is to itch. The itching part of things is usually what makes the Eczema worse, as it will cause baby discomfort and this discomfort will lead to scratching will lead to further discomfort and so on and so forth. Apply moisturiser to baby straight after bathing, and to dry baby pat him or her down very gently with a VERY soft cloth. It’s best to leave the skin slightly damp, as the moisturizer can then lock some of this dampness into the skin. As before, it’s important to use an unscented moisturizer.
Clothing/Bedding-
Many people don’t take bedding and clothing into account as a factor in the Eczema of their child. Baby Eczema treatments suggest that you should ensure that all bedding is 100% cotton, and laundered frequently to ensure that it’s kept clean and free of bacteria. Any bacteria at all may irritate baby’s skin, so this is very important. Also, make sure the detergent used in the laundry is mild and scent free. In addition to this, try and make sure that your own clothing is free from wool or any similar fabrics which may irritate baby’s skin should it come into contact.
Eating-
The food side of things can be especially hard to maintain with an infant, but generally speaking baby will be better off if you keep the acidic foods to a minimum. Links between acidic foods and Eczema skin conditions have been found by scientists. This is not only a baby eczema treatment; it has also proved highly effective for adults and sufferers of all ages.
Eczema can be a real burden on any family, no matter the age of the sufferer. With these baby eczema treatments hopefully you can see that the battle with Eczema is a battle you can win, and having an infant with Eczema is not necessarily a lifelong condition. Please visit the links below for more information on curing Eczema permanently.

Baby Head Down and Labor
Filed Under Home And Family | Leave a Comment
Baby head down means labor is coming, right? Many women when they hit the ninth month of pregnancy begin looking for any sign they can that labor will be coming, and coming soon. Once your baby is head down and engages in your pelvis, your body has begun getting ready for labor, but do not go getting the bubblegum cigars just yet. Just because your baby has engaged does not mean labor is going to happen that day, that week or even that month. Babies tend to turn head down around 33-34 weeks in most women. And most women go into labor between 38-42 weeks of pregnancy, which means there may be several more weeks of sporting a big belly ahead of you.
There are several factors that determine when and if your baby will drop before labor has begun, and those include:
Muscle tone – if you are a well toned woman, your stomach muscles may be working a little too efficiently. Keeping your baby up high and not allowing him/her to descend into your pelvis. Try to relax your stomach muscles to get things moving.
Number of babies – if you have given birth before, baby being head down but not engaged is very common up until the last few days before you give birth. It seems that women who have had previous children will drop and labor in a relatively short period of time of one another.
Size of the baby – if the baby is big he/she may not engage properly. Gestational diabetes is one of the main reasons for this.
Pelvic shape – having a smaller than normal pelvis may make it impossible for your baby to drop, even though baby is head down.
In summary, those who have had babies before, tend to not have their subsequent babies engage until labor is just about to begin. Those women who are first time moms however, may be walking around with a fully engaged baby for several weeks. It all depends on the mother’s body, the baby’s size and whether or not the baby is head down and ready to be born.

Post World War II; there was a great increase in the birth rate in the US. This is the generation which is popularly known as the baby boomers. People who came into the world between the years 1946 and 1964 constitute the baby boomer population. Two of the presidents of United States belong to the baby boomer clan.
You need to understand that the people born during this period have very diverse political views, because of all the things that they underwent in the US. This was the generation that protested hard to bring in the civil rights, and this was one thing that shaped that powerful country to what it is today.
The US has been shelling out a lot of cash and other services to the allies that are recovering from a war. The US has been phenomenal in making many countries grow in their economy. Because of the thriving economy in the US, the education became much more accessible for the poor, and hence, produced more citizens who were educated, and they drew higher salaries at their workplace. This made every family more economically stable, and they started producing more kids in every house, because they knew they would be able to support the kids.
The baby boomers constitute a very high population in the US. They constitute a whopping 28% of the population with 76 million people.
Most of the baby boomers of today have reached middle-age. The baby boomers have contributed a lot in the betterment of their country. The manpower that this clan has is amazing, and they have worked day and night to increase the production of the country, and the economy of this super-power. The baby boomers ARE THE economy of the USA.
They hold a lot of important positions in the US government, and two of them have also been the president of this country. The baby boomers will rule the political scenario in the country for a few more years.
However, because of the latest medical technology, baby boomers will not only expect to live longer than previous Americans, but they will also enjoy better health condition. More and more today they are now health conscious and are staying as active as they can in order to prevent serious diseases such as diabetes and heart related diseases.
The statistics suggest that the baby boomers have a major role to play in the politics of the US till about 2015. This is quite a long time for making a change in the system.
The government is very much bothered about the health of baby boomers, and they have actually increased the budget by a great mark, and they are being cured of many diseases, and heart ailments, and also diabetes. Most of the baby boomers are in their late 40’s or early 60’s. The government has brought in new health policies for the baby boomers that are aging, and retiring from the job.
The baby boomers who are still surviving are very much dependent on the various health benefits they get from the government.
It is quite obvious that the population of baby boomers is very high. This is the population that worked hard for the significant improvement in the economy of US.
The United States of America will further be benefited by the political influence that the baby boomers have.

Baby Health – Immunization
Filed Under Home And Family | Leave a Comment
‘Prevention is better than cure’ is the basis for the widely propagated immunization program for tiny tots. Perpetually, it is better to avert a disease than to cure it.
Not only do the vaccines protect those who have been administered the dose, but also the un-vaccinated part of the population. Children who are vaccinated as per the immunization program have a heightened resistance towards potentially life threatening diseases.
The importance of immunization stays put even if your child has been consistently breast fed. Though the immunity boosting anti bodies provided your milk are very essential, they do not last longer than a year after his birth.
Also, maternal immunization is not able to deal with more sinister diseases like whooping cough and polio which are also extremely contagious. Due to the world wide campaign for immunization and its significance, certain fatal diseases like small pox have been almost entirely wiped out.
The complete immunization program mostly works on eradicating the disease like Tetanus, hepatitis, whooping cough or pertussis, polio, rubella (German measles), mumps, haemophilus, influenza b and diphtheria.
Certain vaccines provide the child immunity for his entire life span, while others might have to be administered more than once. When a disease infests itself in the human body, it turns into a battleground between the disease causing organisms (antigens) and our protectors, the antibodies. Our body retaliates against the invaders by rapidly producing antibodies which fight and annihilate the antigens. Vaccines are actually the dwindled or killed form of the pathogens that cause a particular disease. Once inside the body these bacteria or viruses do not harm but invoke the same reaction from it, that is, the rapid production of antibodies. These antibodies then remain active for a lifetime or less, depending on the vaccine.
After vaccination routine side-effects like fever or rash might make your baby little fussy, recommended doses of simple medicines like acetaminophen or ibuprofen will make him feel better. Though the usefulness of vaccines is debated at times, the boons of immunization outweigh any risks by far. Give you baby a lifetime of health and smiles by meticulously following the immunization schedule.

For baby boomers in retirement, concern about health needs is becoming increasingly prevalent. Aging has become a reality, so they must take steps to improve or maintain good health and slow the aging process.
According to a recent study by Herbal News Magazine, baby boomers born between 1948 and 1953 evaluated their general health more poorly than their elders, based on a similar study conducted in 1992. Perhaps this happened because the Baby Boom generation was generally less physically active than their elders had been, both at home and at work. Less physical activity and poor eating habits have led to many cases of diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure among baby boomers in retirement.
Fortunately, it’s not too late for baby boomers to become pro-active in their own physical well-being. These anti-aging and health tips can help.
Use Herbs to Supplement Diet
Herbs have been around since the earth’s beginnings and can often be found in seasoning and spices we use, plants, many organic foods, and herbal supplements. With the onslaught of pharmaceutical companies and modern medicine, herb use for anti-aging and good health dwindled for a while. But now, baby boomers are realizing the many benefits of holistic health and that herbs offer an affordable alternative to many prescription or over-the-counter drugs.
Some popular herbs for enhanced health and anti-aging include oregano, alfalfa, wheat germ, Echinacea root, fenugreek, arginine, witch hazel, cinnamon, cardamom, dill, peppermint, thyme, ginseng, ginger, rosemary, black pepper, green tea, cat’s claw, and many others. Ginger, for instance, is an antioxidant that helps cleanse the colon, stimulate circulation, and reduce spasms and cramps. It also helps reduce hot flashes and indigestion. Alfalfa detoxifies the body and works as a natural diuretic, hormonal balancer, and cholesterol reducer. Cinnamon enhances the metabolism to help with weight loss, and it is recommended for fungal infections, digestive problems, diabetes, yeast infection, and other ailments. The list of herbs available today goes on and on.
Baby boomers in retirement can see a holistic doctor or one that specializes in homeopathy to discover herbs or alternative medicines that will work best for them.
Natural Healing
Another way baby boomers can improve health and prolong the aging process is through natural methods and remedies for healing. The “ancients” often turned to natural remedies for healing because they didn’t have a doctor’s office or local hospital nearby. Today, many people turn to drugs, which only treat the symptoms, not the problem. Though some diseases and sicknesses do require pharmaceutical drugs, there are many conditions that could possibly be healed naturally. Natural healing is available for many ailments including colds and congestion, back or neck pain, stress and tension, headaches, circulatory problems, and others.
There are several natural healing methods. Acupuncture is a Chinese therapy in which fine needles are used to unblock energy in the body so the healing process can take place naturally. Chiropractic methods include re-aligning or adjusting skeletal systems in the body to help the body release blockages and heal itself. Cranial sacral is the process of adjusting or aligning the bones of the skull to help with headaches, chronic pain, joint syndrome, or injuries to the head or spine. Massaging is a natural healing method in which the hands are used to gently release stress and tension through motion and pressure on certain muscles. Other natural healing methods include Rolfing, Shiatsu, reflexology, and the healing touch.
Choose All-Natural Beauty Products over Chemically-Based Products
Chemically-based beauty products might work wonders at enhancing beauty for now, but long-term use can actually speed up the aging process. Some products that promise beauty might actually dry or damage the skin, damage hair, and cause pre-mature wrinkles. Luckily, there are many organic beauty products available in lotions, shampoos, make-up, bath oils, and soaps to help skin stay beautiful and to reduce signs of aging. These are made of natural ingredients instead of dangerous toxins that can be absorbed into the body through the skin.
Physical Activity, Healthy Eating, and Relaxation
Three other key factors to good health for baby boomers are physical activity, healthy eating, and relaxation. Baby boomers in retirement can still be active doing the things they love such as walking or jogging, riding a bike, gardening, traveling and sight-seeing. Also, they can eat healthier by choosing foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals. Finding a way to relax each day is also important for good health. A soothing bath in natural bath oil, reading a book, spending time outdoors on a swing… all these offer time to relax and clear the mind of the day’s stressful activities.
These methods have helped many people, but a doctor should be seen with any serious illness. Herbs and alternative medicines are not automatic cure-alls, but are meant to enhance health and help the body heal itself of minor illnesses.
Baby boomers in retirement don’t have to stand by and watch their health go downhill. The Internet is a great resource to get started and research different herbs and their health benefits. It’s time to take action with these natural health and anti-aging tips!

Many women make the decision not to breastfeed without knowing the real cost of baby formula. They may add up the price of baby formula, feeding bottles, and artificial nipples. They might even remember to factor in the cost of sterilizing bottles and nipples. But few women who decide not to breastfeed consider the cost of baby formula on their baby’s health and their own health.
Women who use baby formula breastfeed very little or not at all. The lack of breastfeeding, which is a natural physiological part of the pregnancy and childbirth process, results in increased health risks for women. Women who do not breastfeed, or breastfeed for shorter duration, have:
Increased Risk for Breast Cancer
Women who do not breastfeed have increased risk for developing breast cancer. Those who breastfeed longer have greater protection. The association between breastfeeding and breast cancer risk reduction is so strong that the World Cancer Research Fund/American Institute for Cancer Research listed breastfeeding and being breastfed as one of 10 recommendations to prevent cancer.
Increased Risk of Being Overweight
In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, every month of breastfeeding brought a reduction of 0.44 kg among postpartum women. Overweight and obesity are associated with increased risk for various diseases, including diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers. Therefore, by helping to control weight, breastfeeding helps protect women from diseases linked with weight gain.
Increased Risk of Developing Diabetes
According to a study published by the American Medical Association, each year of breastfeeding reduced mothers’ risk of developing diabetes by 15%. Therefore, the longer a woman breastfeeds, the higher her protection against diabetes.
Increased Risk of Endometrial and Ovarian Cancers
Women who have never breastfed have higher incidence of endometrial cancer than women who breastfed. Women who have breastfed longer and more children have lower risks of developing ovarian cancer.
Increased Risk of Osteoporosis
Women who have more children and longer periods of breastfeeding tend to have higher bone density and lower risk of bone fractures than women who have never had children or never breastfed.
Increased Risk of Rheumatoid Arthritis
A study published in Arthritis and Rheumatism found that breastfeeding for at least 12 months reduced women’s risk for developing rheumatoid arthritis.
Increased Stress and Anxiety
Formula-feeding mothers reported fewer positive moods and positive events and more stress than breastfeeding mothers, a study in Biological Research for Nursing found. Those using baby formula also experienced more depression and anger than breastfeeding mothers. Breastfeeding floods the mother’s brain with oxytocin, a hormone that is responsible for creating positive emotions and increased trust. It is also known as the “feel good” or “love” hormone.
Reduced Natural Child Spacing
Exclusive breastfeeding in the first six months after birth reduces a woman’s fertility, enabling her to avoid pregnancy. In a study published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, none of the breastfeeding mothers got pregnant six months postpartum. Formula feeding mothers do not receive this natural contraceptive benefit.
The health impact of baby formula listed above brings about additional costs to women and their families in the form of medical expenses, lost productivity and even loss of life. To fully understand the cost of baby formula, one must consider the health risks to women who do not breastfeed and to their children who do not receive breastmilk. Parents should be aware of the real cost of baby formula in order to make an informed decision about how to feed and nurture their babies.

Baby Nursery Feng Shui – Create a Space Full of Health, Harmony & Happiness
Filed Under Home Improvement | Leave a Comment
Imagine creating a space within your home for your baby to grow and develop while being healthy and at peace.
I’ve consulted on many nurseries for existing and expecting parents. Here are 9 tips to consider when creating a nursery for the new baby.
1. Crib Position: The crib should be placed in the command position of the room. To be in the command position, the location should have a view of the door but not be in direct line with the door or on the same wall as the door. There are a total of three command positions for a room, view this recent article about the command position of a bed.
2. Flow of Chi: Make sure the door into the nursery can open a full 90 degrees. This may mean no coats or clothes hanging on the back of the door. Also, make sure that you can easily move around in the space and open dresser drawers and closet doors with no obstructions.
3. Color: Consider light colors to soothe and multiple colors to inspire the baby’s development. Light blues, pinks and greens are recommended. Keep in mind that a bedroom and nursery are yin energy and should be created for relaxing and rejuvenating.
4. Décor: Pay close attention to what you hang above or around areas where the baby spends a lot of time. Don’t place shelving above the crib or changing table as this can create a downward pressure, reducing the baby’s development. There’s also the potential for heavy objects or shelves to fall.
5. Lighting & Ventilation: Make sure you have enough light during each part of the day and night. Nurseries often don’t have enough light, especially in the middle of the night when parents want to check on the baby. I personally recommend Himalayan Salt Rock lamps for the perfect night light. It produces soft shades of pink, peach and orange, warmly lighting a room while infusing the space with negative ions to remove pollutants and adding chi or life energy.
6. Development: To help a baby develop motor skills, consider purchasing a baby-safe mirror at the two-to-three-month stage.
7. Access: Be sure all items you use frequently – diapers, wipes, blankets, first aid essentials, etc. — are accessible. You don’t want to hunt for the thermometer in the middle of the night. Keep a stock of diapers and wipes close at hand, with extras in a convenient place. Don’t place these baby essentials in awkward spots, where other items fall on you when you reach for them, or where you’ll have to stretch to the back of a drawer or closet for them. This just increases frustration when the most important task is to be present for your baby.
8. Electrical Overload: Dozens of tech gadgets available today help you monitor your baby around the clock. Even so, keep electro-magnetic fields around your baby’s crib to a minimum. This includes heart monitors, baby monitors, video cameras and multiple plugs within an outlet; decide which devices you really need and choose products that serve multiple purposes. Also, pay attention to what is on the other side of the wall as this can have an impact on the baby’s development and sleep.
9. Parent’s Room: Creating a nursery for the baby is an exciting time. When the baby arrives, the nursery can easily carry over into the parent’s room, especially when a baby co-sleeps. Make an effort to keep your own bedroom for relaxation, sleep and rejuvenation without permitting the nursery to take over the room. You’ll be glad!

Baby’s Skin Care
Filed Under Health And Fitness | Leave a Comment
A newborn’s skin is soft and delicate. Proper skin care and bathing can help maintain the health and texture of the baby’s skin. It is important to understand that to take care of Baby’s skin the most natural way is often best. Newborn baby may have some skin conditions that seem unusual to you. Most are fairly common such as Baby acne is a red, pimply rash on the face. Generally, it disappears over time. Cutis marmorata is a condition where the skin looks like pinkish-blue marble when exposed to cold temperatures. Erythema toxicum is a common, splotchy red rash that can affect newborns. Some have firm yellow or white bumps surrounded by a flare of red. The rash tends to come and go on different parts of the body. Vernix is a greasy white substance that coats and protects baby’s skin in the mother’s uterus. Some babies are born with lots of vernix still on their skin.
Milia are tiny whiteheads on your baby’s face. It is harmless and can be washed or wiped off. Crusty patches on scalp. Overactive glands in your baby’s scalp can cause cradle cap. If so, use a mild soap containing olive, coconut, or palm oil and possibly herbal extracts such as calendula. Contrary to popular thought, most babies may only need to be bathed two or three times a week or every other day. Baths can be given any time of day. Bathing before a feeding often works well. Sponge baths are required at first. Bathing in a tub of water should wait until the baby’s umbilical cord falls off, and a baby boy’s circumcision heals, to prevent infection. Contact dermatitis can develop after your baby’s skin comes into contact with something irritating or that she’s allergic to. Keep your child’s skin moist. After bathing, apply moisturizer within three minutes to retain the moisture in the skin. Avoid sudden temperature changes.
Avoid using soap if possible and do not scrub skin with washcloth. If soap is needed, use mild, moisturizing, unscented soap. Heat rash also problem baby skin and causes little bumps on the skin that can show up when your baby overheats. Keep your baby comfortably cool by dressing him in loose-fitting, light cotton clothing, especially in warm, humid weather. Massaging lotions and oils into your baby’s skin can relieve irritation. But anything you use should be free of petrochemicals , which are themselves irritants. Premature babies skin is even more delicate, so it is important to withhold all products until their approximate due date, as their skin takes longer to mature. If your baby is overdue, his/her skin may well be dry and cracked. Don’t be tempted to use any creams or lotions. If night-time itching is a problem, use a cold, damp washcloth to soothe the child’s skin.
Baby Skin Care Tips
1. Babies’ skin needs cleaning and cares for a healthy function during their growth.
2. Humidity causes macerations. Don’t use talc. It is abrasive and irritates the skin.
3. Protect baby skin from sunburn as well as associated problems such as freckles and premature wrinkles.
4. Avoid frequent baths for eczema.
5. Keep baby’s skin from becoming dry and itchy by adding non-allergenic oil to the bathwater.
6. If your baby has seborrheic dermatitis, a mild hydrocortisone cream (0.5%) is safe and usually effective.
7. Apply unscented petroleum jelly or a cream with zinc oxide to the skin of the diaper area to protect and lubricate for diaper rash.
8. Avoid using baby powder or talc.

Prenatal Care: Give your Baby the Very Best in Health Care by Starting Early
Filed Under Home And Family | Leave a Comment
If you know or suspect that you have become pregnant the most important thing to do – the best way to ensure your baby’s health – is to visit a doctor right away. There will be many appointments for pre-natal care you must be able to keep during your pregnancy for the sake of your child’s health. Do not miss any of the appointments scheduled with your doctor, because all of these appointments are important.
As a matter of fact, mothers who do not receive pre-natal care are three times more likely to have a child with low birth weight and other problems. Most importantly, the infant children of mothers who do not receive pre-natal care are five times more likely to die. Doctors can assess any potential health problems if the mother is seen regularly. The detection of early possible problems can be treated – can prevent certain problems and even cure others before your child is born.
If you have just become pregnant, if you think you may be pregnant or if you are trying to become pregnant, you should consult your doctor as soon as you can. One highly recommend thing that a mother – to – be can do for her baby is to begin taking care of herself (especially when it comes to healthy eating habits) right away.
Doctors usually tell you about how to eat healthy as possible, exercise regularly. The latest information is that women should workout 30 minutes per day about five days per week. It does not have to be an especially strenuous workout, however, exercise is good for you and will be good for your baby as well.
When I was first considering getting pregnant my doctor recommend that I add 400 micrograms of folic acid by mouth as a dietary supplement to my daily routine. Several birth defects can be prevented by folic acid. You can, as opposed to taking all of your folic acid by pill, set up a diet routine that includes all of the folic acid that you need. There are several kinds of cereals and breakfast foods available for you that contain high amounts of folic acid – but you much make sure that you are consuming enough folic acid through your diet.
Because many women are different, you should consult your doctor or nutritionist before you set a specific diet for yourself.
